View Full Version : Research about Estonian teams (Meistriliiga and Esiliiga)

First of all, I didn\'t know what to put in \"Teema\" and \"Kirjeldus\". So, just in case I put my topic in both of them.

Second, I come from Finland. Although Finnish and Estonian sound and look quite similar, I don\'t understand Estonian. Only a little, like words.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But, the reason why I registered here is:

I\'m doing a research about Estonian leagues (Meistriliiga and Esiliiga) for a one soccer management game on Internet, which is still under beta testing. Naturally, I know Estonian team names and some of the stadiums. But, I\'m experiencing problems when I should find out what are away shirt colours for Tartu JK Tammeka. So, I\'m asking the members of this forum help me out a bit, if you could give me some information about Estonian teams. May it be your local team or favourite team, anything will do.

But I\'m not asking you to do searching work for me and work your ass off. This isn\'t compulsory, help me out if you can and want.

So far, I know what Estonian Leagues are called. And teams of course. I can also find most of the stadiums (maybe all I guess) from Meistriliiga teams, and almost all their colours (primary and secondary, away & home colours). And what comes to Esiliiga teams, it is quite hard for a boy who hardly remembered all teams from Meistriliiga.

Once more, put everything you know about your teams. It doesn\'t matter if I already contain that information, everything will do. But mostly I\'m after....

Stadium Name
Stadium Capacity
Primary & Secondary Home Colours
Primary & Secondary Away Colours
And oh yeah, the name of Estonian Cup! I can\'t find it anywhere! :oih:

I\'m grateful to all who give me information about your league.

Thanks.

PS. Does Pasi Rautiainen rock? :D

It\'s pretty obvious, that CM 4 is the subject :)

Their away colours should be Blue and Black (home colours are white and dark blue).

Estonian Cup\'s original name is \"Eesti karikas\".

surely can\'t be CM4

OPRomppainen

Moomin is right, I\'m not a researcher for CM4.

Ok, I am, but not for Estonian teams! :D

I was handed Estonia in another soccer management game you don\'t know (and I think I can\'t reveal the URL for that yet). I thought Estonia would be piece of cake, but obviously it\'s not, for me.

Kaarel, these are the colour options possible (they really suck):

Black
White
Red
Green
Purple
Yellow
Blue
Orange

Thanks for handing me information about Tartu JK Tammeka already :) (But my editor destroyed Esiliiga while I opened it, now I have to redo it, great!)

Tammeka was just an example, because I know nothing about Esiliiga\'s colours. But a friend of mine, who is Estonian, told me that especially in Esiliiga, teams could change their colours each year so it\'s quite hard to find the real colours.

Primary & Secondary Away Colours: White & Green

JK Pärnu Tervis
Stadium Name: Raeküla
Stadium Capacity: 500
Primary & Secondary Home Colours: White & Blue
Primary & Secondary Away Colours: Blue & White

What is you on about? JK Tammeka\'s home shirt and shorts are dark blue, and the away shirt is white. I\'m pretty sure (not 100%) the socks are red.

Thanks for all people who have posted something about Esiliiga teams! :)

After all it seems that information about Meistriliiga teams are found on the Internet, but you have to work for them. Esiliiga is quite impossible, that\'s why I\'m asking your help mostly on that.

Thanks to raido, Pärnu clubs are now finished.

So far I know all stadiums and their sizes from Meistriliiga teams (apart from FC Valga and FC Kuressaare :( ), from Esiliiga all stadiums which are said on this thread. Club colours, all else missing but FC Flora and Levadia Maardu :D And of course, I also have the information from Pärnu teams and JK Tammeka Tartu.

Esiliiga people, time to put your efforts in.... ;)

Hi OPRomppainen,

I think it is not useful to acquire here the info, that you need. To make being developed by you a soccer game the closest to reality you should directly acquire Estonian clubs. To receive official contact data of all Estonian clubs you should ask about it FC FLORA management by e-mail fcflora@fcflora.ee

Received directly from Estonian clubs info is more correct compared with info from some “in chair supporters” who do not attend the matches and receive info about Estonian soccer only from newspapers, Internet and matches’ attendants.

NikWarshawsky, it is true that I could acquire more exact information directly from Estonian clubs. However, I have bad experiences about asking something straight from official sites and addresses.

First of all, I have never been answered. No matter if I have asked something from Yugoslavian FA, Columbus Crew etc. etc. And I thought I might get the information faster from here, as it\'s highly likely this site is the most popular football forum at Estonia. And I think dedicated football fans know those information about their local teams, and also other teams, as they are basic information. But the amount of answers has been slightly smaller than I anticipated. Whether the reason is lack of forum members (compared to www.soccernet.fi which has quite enormous user base), or just plain lack of interest. Is this question on a right section by the way? :D Should I have used different section?

NikWarshawsky, are you a registered member of www.soccernet.fi by the way? If I\'m not mistaken, I have seen you couple of times there, mostly at Finnish Leagues and Finland NT sections. Levadia Maardu fan?

Allo

Well I think you have understood the reasons behind the lack of answers quite well. There is however a small thing you have not noticed. The fact is our season just started and the first league clubs still have to wait a couple of weeks before they can kick the ball at all. And as it is, they do tend to change their colours quite often and stadiums and such. Even players (I am not talking about one or two trasfers, I am talkgin about whole teams changing). The football system is just not as developed here as it is in Finland - yet :)
If you give us a couple of more weeks, I am sure you will get your answers. As the matter of fact the full lineup of the teams participating in this years first division (esiliiga) was finalised like a week ago.

Untill that time, just try to keep your teema/topic as high as you can on the list, so people wont forget about it.

Ok I will try to give you some answers here, mostly about stadiums and last years colours.

1. FC Lootus K-Järve
Kohtla-Järve Linnastaadion, cap: 500
colours: Blue and white stripes
2. JK Vaprus Pärnu
this one you already know
3. JK Tammeka Tartu
This one you also know
4. Tallinna Jalgpalliklubi
They can play on either Tallinna Kalevi staadion (cap. around 4000) or Wismari staadion (no stands, turfpitch)
colours: red and black stripes
5. JK Merkuur Tartu
Tartu Sepa staadion, no stands (This year they have been told not to play their games there so I am guessing Tartu Tamme Staadion for them as well.)
Colours: red and white
6. F.C.A. Estel Tallinn
Main colours Blue, no idea where they will play
7. JK Tervis Pärnu
you know this one
8. M.C. Tallinn
No info :)

More info in a couple of weeks I think :)

Great post, thanks! :)

Yes, I also heard from an Estonian who I know from another forum, that Estonian teams tend to change their kit colours quite often indeed.

I can wait for members to give more answers. I\'m not in a hurry (I guess... :D ).

You might think Finland\'s system is working. But in fact it has it\'s quirks too, and some of them really suck. Our teams might have problems with renewing their league licenses (for instance, one team did so, but they managed to hold on and they play in Veikkausliiga next season), no-one knows what system will be used next season in Finnish 1st Division and lower and so on. But the worst thing is our kits! As they are full of sponsors, they look like a nightmare. Each one of them.

It\'s night here, and as a student I need to wake up early. It would take my whole night to list all negative aspects about Finnish football! :D

That is right, I am FC LEVADIA MAARDU supporter and couple of times I have inquired at Finnish Soccernet the info about Pasi Rautiainen and friendly matches played in Finland.

If you contact FC FLORA by fcflora@fcflora.ee you get information that you need. In FC FLORA office work pretty and helpful girls and they I am sure you to will get necessary info.

All info about Estonian teams contained in issued in the last year the annual books devoted to Estonian soccer 2002.

You wrote that you have an estonian friend and it is no problem for him to obtain for you these annual books.
One annul book have been issued by FC LEVADIA and to obtain one it is necessary to contact with authors by indrekpetersoo@hot.ee or saveljev@hot.ee
The second annul book have been issued by Estonian Soccer Federation (or FC FLORA, it is almost the same) and to obtain one it is necessary to visit FC FLORA office.

In a month FC LEVADIA issues Estonian Soccer 2003 year-book. Estonian Soccer Federation have no plans to issue its annual book in this year.

I think Esiliiga hasn\'t kicked off yet, so you can\'t be 100% sure yet about kit colours and stadiums of Esiliiga teams, right?

I\'m thinking of finishing this research next weekend, and I\'m still missing information. I appreciate every single bit of your help! :)

because i\'m looking for all informations i can get of estonian soccer, i\'m glad to get some informations here :D but i\'m more interested in the \"meeskond\" of the meistriliiga-teams. if it is possible, i would like to get informations about the esiliiga teamsquads, too. but meistriliiga is more important for me. and to say it with the words of the finnish researcher;) i don\'t want to let the work only done by u, but i think u better know how to search the \"estonian\" www to get informations about the teams.
