Kuna ManU tegeleb suurpuhastusega, siis võiks ju ka Alexi välja vahetada, sest mees on omadega päris ära pööranud.
    Hooaja lõpus läheb erru!
    C’mon Man United!!!

Mõned teooriad Stami lahkumise kohta, mida pakub http://football.guardian.co.uk/ tegemist on suht pika jutuga, kuid pilgu üle laskmine tasub end küllaga ära, isegi ManU vihkajatele -

Theory 1: He was sold for "purely football reasons". Stam's no longer the best defender in the Premiership. First of all, that potent world class striker Chris Sutton did him in Ryan Giggsy's testimonial game against Celtic. Then his slip let in little Micky Owen for the decisive second goal in United's Charity Shield loss to Liverpool. And he was at fault as Louis Saha banged in a couple for newboys Fulham in the opening league game of the season. So that's it, Stam has lost it and it's best to cut out the dead wood before it starts infecting the team. And Ferguson doesn't want to let the Dutchman, and his transfer value, rot in the reserves.
What does Stam think of this one? "All this speculation is whether this decision was a footballing one on Ferguson's part. I asked him face-to-face what his reasons were and he told me it was football," he said at yesterday's Lazio press conference. "I suppose I have to believe him." He clearly doesn't.

Truth likelihood 5/10 - He may have gone out of form, but Jaap was still the best player in the United defence.

Theory 2: It was the book what done it. There are some things that are just not done. Like slagging off your boss and your workmates in a massively hyped-up autobiography that is serialised in the second best-selling daily newspaper over a week at the start of your manager's last season, for example. But Yip-Jaap did it. And what's more, he says he has no regrets about revealing: that his boss tapped him up illegally before he moved from PSV; that Ferg advocated diving in big European matches; that the Neville brothers are whingers and they are "busy" c-words, whatever that means; that David Beckham is not the sharpest mind in Manchester; that Dwight Yorke is a love machine.

Some might argue that in many of these cases, he was only stating the obvious. But that didn't stop Ferg and Stam from having their own 'Head to Head' in which Stam and his literary masterpiece were brought to book. A fine was hardly likely to bother him too much, given that he stands to rake it in at Waterstones. The only place to hit a footballer where it hurts is to take him up to a great height and drop him. Which is what Ferg did for both the Blackburn and Villa games. No man is bigger than the club, and all that.

Both Stam and his new manager at Lazio hinted yesterday that the book could well have been the bale of hay that broke the camel's back. "I told him [Ferg] I wanted to talk about the stories in the papers that none of the players were speaking to me after my autobiography, " he said. "It was then that he told me I no longer fitted into his tactical system."

Meanwhile general manager Massimo Cragnotti said: "We only learned that he was for sale after all the problems between him and the manager. That's what happened."

Which kind of leaves Ferg's insistence that "The book had nothing to do with this, believe me. It is a footballing matter. I would never let a thing like that cloud my decision", looking a bit like Steve Owen trying to make it up with Mel.

Truth likelihood 7/10 - the timing is too eerie to be ignored.

Theory 3: The boss was showing he is boss. Ferguson doesn't suffer big-time Charlies gladly. Just ask Mark Hughes, Paul Ince and Andrei Kanchelskis. All three got a bit big for their footballing boots and that caused irritation. None of the decisions were popular at the time. But in the long-run they have proved to be correct. Now this big Dutch fella thinks he can start dictating the play. Wrong.

If there was truth in the rumours that no-one was talking to Stam at the training ground, then the team's morale was going to plummet if Stam was part of it. An already unstable back four was not going to tighten up with relationships between Stam and, say, the brothers Neville needing to be patched up first. So Ferguson performed the painful yet essential amputation, and just about in time to sign a replacement before Friday's Champions League deadline.

Ferg may be in his last season as United boss, but he is not going to cede control before he absolutely has to. And probably not even then. Let this be a warning to the rest of the big names in the squad. Do not mess. You're just one phone call away from a move.

Truth likelihood 7/10 - Nobody messes with the Ferg-father, and team spirit is more important than individual talent.

Theory 4: The United board wanted to cash in. United are not scared to buy, and buy big. But they are a business, and they need to satisfy their shareholders that the books are balanced. Maybe the club's plc is pressing Ferguson to recoup some of the £47m spent on Juan Sebastian Veron and Ruud van Nistelrooy. And a £6m return on a player who was the world's costliest defender when they bought him may seem like good business.

But, on the other hand, if they wanted to cash in then why not open up the bidding to a host of clubs to drive up the fee? Unlike Spurs, where Sol Campbell was out of contract, United held all the cards. Last season they further strengthened their hand by signing him on a new five-year deal. They could have held an auction, inviting only those chairmen with the kind of disposable cash that would embarrass most African countries.

Truth likelihood 4/10 - We all know how much the United board loves cash, but selling one of their biggest assets? And now?

Theory 5: Ferguson is making life difficult for his successor: Ferguson is considered the best manager in the country, if not the world. He rather likes that, and hopes that it will not be forgotten after he retires. One way of ensuring that, is to sabotage his successor's chances of continuing what he started. So while Fergie still has the power, he's going to exercise it and begin the break-up of a great team. This might be cutting off his own ruddy nose to spite the United face, especially if it means he misses out on trophies this year. But think how he'll go down in history...

Truth likelihood -1 out of 10 (Okay, we were pushing it a bit with this one).
