Trundle takes Player of the Year Award for League 1

Swansea City striker Lee Trundle was named Coca-Cola League One Player of the Year at the inaugural \'Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo\'s Top 50 Football League Players\' evening.
Over 750 guests were in attendance at The London Hilton on Park Lane to see a total of 19 awards presented during a gala evening that it is hoped will become an annual event in the football calendar.
The Awards acknowledged examples of excellence both on and off the pitch, with categories ranging from Player of the Year to Community Club of the Year, Best Club Website and Programme of the Year.
Trundle has already hit 20 League goals this season as Swansea push for an automatic promotion place.
Sheffield United midfielder Phil Jagielka was named Championship Player of the Year. The former England Under-21 international, now 23 and a Sheffield United player since his youth team days, lifted the top player award for his inspirational performances as the Blades look to gain automatic promotion.
The League 2 Player of the Year award went to Carlisle United\'s Karl Hawley.
Preston North End\'s 20 year-old striker David Nugent collected The Football League Young Player of the Year accolade, and there was a notable winner of the Young Apprentice Award For The Football League Championship in 17 year-old Lewin Nyatanga.
The Derby County central defender\'s award capped not only his excellent debut season for the Rams but also closely followed his achievement of becoming the youngest ever senior Wales international when making his debut against Paraguay.
Among the other highlights of the evening was a \'Contribution to Football\' award handed to HuddersfieldTown\'s Gerry Murphy, who has been with the Terriers since 1988 and heads up the club\'s hugely successful Academy.
Clubs celebrating awards on the night included CrystalPalace (Programme of the Year), NottinghamForest (Best Club Website) Brentford (Community Club of the Year) and HullCity (Best Ground - an award voted for by away fans).
