Hea, et sa selle teema tõstatasid. See meenutas mulle küsimust, mida ma küsisin endalt kümneid kordi pärast Levadia-Newcastle mängu. Kuidas on võimalik, et Oku rabab Eestis nii ilusaid totse ja saab samas Inglismaal tudengidiskobaaris korvi oma kahekümnelt õudukalt?

Teine variant on see, et keskmine inglismaa tudengidiskobaari õudukas on inglismaa mõistes siiski pandav ja ka kohalike hulgas väga populaarne. Struggling Leeds sack manager Blackwell

Leeds announced they have sacked Kevin Blackwell with the club struggling in the Championship.

The West Yorkshire side are second from bottom with just two wins and a draw from eight games and have scored only four league goals in the process.

A statement from the club read: 'The board of Leeds United have today terminated the contract of manager Kevin Blackwell.

'The club would like to place on record its thanks to Kevin for the work he has put in over the past three-and-a-half years, the past two and a half of which were as manager.

'No further comment will be made at this time.'

mina ütlen igal juhul onu Kevinile suur aitäh. tema ülesanne oli täiesti perverssne, ning ta peaaegu et tuli sellega toime. kahjuks jäi üks võit siiski puudu ja täna oleme me siin, kus me just oleme. igatahes minul on selle venna suhtes jätkuvalt respekti ülearugi, ning ma loodan, et tal läheb tulevikus hästi. tõenäoliselt saa temast mõni CCC või div.1 manager. kui leedsiliku pinget enam pole, siis ehk avalduvad ka tema parimad omadused. näiteks see, et tegelikult on ta hea treener ja saab aru, millist mängu saadavalolevate meestega mängida saab.

Tahtsin lihtsalt lisada, et olen Konnaga nõus. Imeline töö, kuid kahjuks ei pidanud ta pingele vastu ja ei suutnud teha seda nö viimast hüpet. Treenerina suurepärane, peatreenerina keskpärane, kahjuks.

Inimesena väga mõnus - hoolis klubist ja tahtis edu.

Siinkohal peaks tegelikult konna lause "tema ülesanne oli täiesti perverssne, ning ta peaaegu et tuli sellega toime" korrutama umbes 1,5ga, kui mitte 2ga. Ja kas eelnevast peaks järeldama, et O'Leary oleks täiesti rahuldav valik?

Njah, võib küll Leedsi suurte nimedega treenerite seas (Ranieri, Curbs ja Glenda) linkida, aga palju tõenäolisemalt lõpetate ikka mõne madalama astme treeneri, nt Batesi kollanokast sõbra, kes jättis minu arvates lahkudes Millwalli mitte just parimasse seisu, otsas. Sobiks?

neid McGheesuguseid "tegi rasketes olukordades endast parima" treenereid nagu hästi ei tahaks enam. no mis siis et tegi - nüüd tahaks ikkagi midagi enamat. kedagi sellist, kes suudaks vajadusel ka suur olla, mitte ainult edukalt vireleda. Curbs on ka pigem üks neist, aga temaga peaksime ilmselt leppima. Ranieri oleks ehk sutsu parem, vähemalt pärats premieri tagasi jõudmist. Glenda on minu nimekirjas põrgu viimases sõõris koos Juudase, Brutuse ja Cassiusega. oluliselt madalamal kui säärased õudused nagu Reid, Keegan, Souness, Venables..

Curbs is on standby
ENGLAND candidate Alan Curbishley today emerged as red hot favourite to succeed axed Leeds United boss Kevin Blackwell.
Bookmaking giant Ladbrokes, whose client list includes many influential and well-informed individuals within football, were forced into an early revision of their opening betting call immediately in the wake of Blackwell's sacking late yesterday.
Curbishley replaced Dennis Wise as the favourite to become the next Leeds manager within half an hour of the book being opened.
The "Magic Sign" had the former Charlton boss at 8/1 in their first show, with Swindon's Wise as the 2/1 front-runner.
Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "We went up with 8/1 Curbishley and got knocked over, pure and simple. The phones haven't stopped ringing."
Curbishley was linked with the West Brom vacancy after the Baggies decided to call time on Bryan Robson's tenure as boss on Monday, but swiftly rejected any interest in the post.
The former Charlton boss – pipped at the post by Steve McClaren for the England job – is ready for a return to football after leaving the Premiership club in May, and has stated that he would be happy to manage in the Coca-Cola Championship "with the right club".

Curbishley was adamant he wanted to take a six-month sabbatical from the game after he left the Addicks following 15 years in charge at The Valley. He had been linked with the Aston Villa and Sunderland posts during the summer but the jobs were taken by Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane respectively.
Blackwell's number two John Carver today assumed temporary charge at Elland Road, ahead of Saturday's crunch visit of Birmingham.
United chairman Ken Bates is notorious for playing his cards very close to his chest and was giving nothing away on his plans for a permanent Blackwell replacement.
However, he will certainly admire the way Curbishley built Charlton into a respected top-flight club on a shoestring budget. Bates is also very close to Wise – he is godfather to one of the former Chelsea and England midfielder's children – and praises his inspirational qualities.
Ladbrokes' other major market mover has been Claudio Ranieri, who was initially priced up at 33/1 before being cut to 20/1 and then 10/1.
"The punters are very keen on the Chelsea connection," said Hutchison "and Ranieri is being heavily punted."
