Ah jaa pre-season sai läbi. Laupäeval võideti siis White Hart Lane\'il Portot 2:0 Defoe väravatest. Hooajaeelse sõprusmängu kohta ei olnud 36 000 pealtvaatajat ka kehv tulemus.

I\'m very happy to have signed a four-year deal with Seville. I\'ve always liked the Spanish league and I think the style of the game over there will suit me. I\'ve admired Spanish football throughout my career and I always fancied trying it one day. Seville are a very, very good team so I\'m happy to have joined them and I\'m looking forward to the new experience.
I\'m sad to be leaving Spurs, but after I found out directly from the board that they wanted to sell me, I felt it was only right for me to leave. The time was right to move on and start a new challenge somewhere else. I know that the manager said he was happy to keep me, which was nice of him, but if they really wanted me to stay, they wouldn\'t have been prepared to sell me - which they were.
I\'ll take some very good memories with me of my time in English football with West Ham and Spurs. I liked it a lot and I leave behind a lot of friends. I enjoyed pretty much every minute of my time in England.
Even though I\'m no longer a Spurs player I wish them well for the future. I\'m sure they\'ll have an excellent season. They have some very good players, but it\'s how they manage those players that I think will determine what they can achieve. Knowing how to deal with such a big squad is going to be their main issue this season, but if they can do that then I think they will have a great season in the Premiership.
I don\'t have any bitterness towards Spurs and I wish them all the best.

Spursi mängijatest oli siis rida lahingus oma riikide esinduste eest:
Paul Robinson ja Jermain Defoe olid Inglismaa algkoosseisus ja vahetati poolajal välja. Carrick istus pingul. Tänu Robinsoni peamise \"konkurendi\" kangelastegudele, on suurimaks takistuseks Robinsoni koondise esinumbri koha jätkumisele tabav välgulöök. Defoe millegi erilisega silma ei paistnud, v.a. üks ohtlik pealelöök, mille Sorensen tõrjus.
U-21 koondise keskkaitsjapaari 1-0 võidumängus taanlaste vastu moodustas Davenport ja Dawson.
Andy Reid lõi Iiri koondise ainukese värva itaallaste vastu 1-2 kaotusmängus. Iiri U-21 mängis Stephen Kelli kogu mängu Põhja-Iiri vastu, tulemuseks 2-2 viik.
Teemu Tainio Soome purustas Makedoonia 3-0.

Viimane kord kui Spurs liiga esiotsas oli, sai see teema avatud ja mõne postituse pärast hädaldatud vigastuste pärast... Nüüdki King, Routledge (2 kuud), Davis (millal iganes), Brown, Huddlestone ja Pamarot on olulisematest väljas. Loodetavasti saab King järgmiseks laupäevaks Tsuktsi Õliparunitega mänguks valmis.
Tavaliselt ma selliseid ülemineku kuulujutte ei kommenteeri ja ei lase ennast nendest segade, aga kuna Jol ning Feyenoordi Dirk Kuyt on siin avalikkuse ees vastastikuseid armastusavaldusi esitanud (ja arvestades Kanoute\'i lahkumist), siis sai täna seda Rotterdami derby\'i väheke terasema pilguga vaadatud.
