Tottenham could be in for a busy time of things in the next hour or so but they have just got one new signing in the bag. Lyon have confirmed they have sold 25-year-old France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to Spurs for an initial £8m. Lloris has signed a four-year-deal.

Tottenham have got another one in the bag. Confirmation from BBC Sport's Mandeep Sanghera that Spurs have completed the signing of striker Clint Dempsey from Fulham. The 29-year-old United States international, who looked like he was heading for Liverpool, has moved to White Hart Lane for a fee in the region of £6m.

Joao Moutinho's move to Spurs looks to have fallen through. That saga had been dragging on all day... the clubs agreed a £22m fee earlier but stalled on personal terms. The move was off and then on again but the securing of Clint Dempsey seems to have convinced Spurs to pull the plug.
