Roma & Real Madrid Could Make A Spectacular €70m Five Player Deal - Report
Los Blancos could off-load some of their unwanted players to the Giallorossi, according to an Italian journalist...
Mediaset journalist Nando Sanvito has suggested that, because of the excellent relationship between Real Madrid and Roma enjoyed in the past, the two clubs may engage in a spectacular transfer swap in the near future.
"It is no secret that the acquisition of Xabi Alonso has freed up some Real Madrid players to leave for Roma, especially with the millions [Roma] will [receive from Alberto] Aquilani's move to Liverpool," he told ilsussidiario.it.
"[Players from Real Madrid] could go to Roma, but I believe ultimately there will be parallel negotiations. In reality, the team has not been approached by [sporting director Daniele] Prade or [president Rosella] Sensi."
Sanvito went as far as to name the players that would be included in the deal, but insists it will heavily depend on a change in ownership for the Europa League contenders.
"However, in the case Roma switch owners, a big €70 million agreement [could take place] in exchange for five players. We're talking about [Rafael] van der Vaart, [Christoph] Metzelder, [Mahamadou] Diarra, [Arjen] Robben, and [Klaas-Jan] Huntelaar," he continued.
"This offer is only available providing Roma change ownership soon, but I am sceptical about it."
The comment about "parallel negotiations" seems to indicate that players will also have to move in the other direction. Earlier this year, the free-spending White House had reportedly expressed interest in Giallorossi stars Juan and Daniele De Rossi.
